Construction and renovation work on the new radiotherapy and radiosurgery center at St. Ivan Rilski University Hospital in Bulgaria has been fully completed. The hospital stated that a latest-generation medical linear accelerator has been installed in the center, capable of achieving sub-millimeter patient positioning accuracy.

The equipment introduced in this round was delivered by the Ministry of Health under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as part of the "Modernization of the National Oncology Diagnosis and Treatment System" investment project, with funding from the European Commission's Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The equipment is a TrueBeam-EDGE linear accelerator manufactured by Varian Medical Systems, equipped with BrainLab's ExactTrac Dynamic system, valued at 5.1 million euros excluding VAT.

The construction of the new center building was also funded by the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, falling under the implementation scope of the "Hospital Facility Modernization" investment C12.I1 project. The project's total budget is 3,403,681.15 euros including VAT, of which EU funding amounts to 2,836,400.96 euros excluding VAT.

The hospital stated that the new radiotherapy and radiosurgery center will be opened to patients after completing the necessary licensing procedures.
